Operation against Myanmar separatists tomorrow

A joint force of Bangladesh Army and Border Guard Bangladesh will launch an 'all-out' operation tomorrow on Thanchi border in Bandarban to flush out the Myanmar separatist group that fired on a BGB team this morning. 
Director General of BGB Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed said the Myanmar army was contacted to create blockade in their territory, so that the separatists get no chance to escape.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said appropriate operation will be carried out in connection with the shooting on BGB men in Bandarban border.
Talking to reporters at the National Press Club this afternoon, the minister said, “A combing operation or a joint drive might be carried out, so that such incidents do not take place in future.”
Earlier this morning, the BGB came under attack in Boro Modak area around 9:30am. “A BGB nayek named Md Zakir sustained bullet wounds in the attack,” Mohsin Reza, BGB public relations officer, confirmed The Daily Star.
In retaliation, the BGB men, who were patrolling there, also fired gunshots, triggering a gunfight, he said.
“The gunfight continued till 2:00pm with the Myanmar separatist group “Arakan Army”,” the BGB official said.
The injured Nayek Zakir was taken to Boro Mokak camp from the spot, said Major Babor of Bandarban BGB sector office.
Later, two platoons of army, from Bolipara and Alikadom camps, and BGB men (number could not be known) reached spot, the BGB official told our Bandarban correspondent.
The joint force was conducting operation there till 4:00pm, he said.
