Bandarban Correspondent: A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) suffered bullet wounds when they exchanged gunfire with Arakanese rebel organization Arakan Army in Thanchi of Bandarban on Wednesday morning.
The bullet-hit BGB nayek was identified as Zakir Hossain.
Remakkri union Chairman Maliram Tripura said members of Arakan Army were passing through the impracticable Baro Madok area of Thanchi with 13 horses. Some BGB members challenged the Arakan Army which led to gunfire.
BGB nayek Zakir Hossain suffered bullet-injuries in the gunfire while two horses of Arakan Army died on the spot.
Injured BGB nayek was sent to Combined Military Hospital in Chittagong. More members of BGB and Army were deployed in the area.
