Israel to suspend Palestinian talks

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chairs the weekly cabinet meeting - 6 April 2014 Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Wednesday that "whoever chooses Hamas does not want peace"
Israel has suspended peace talks with the Palestinians in response to a unity deal between Hamas and Fatah.

The decision came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a six-hour meeting of Israel's security cabinet.

The Palestinian factions announced the reconciliation deal on Wednesday, saying they will try to form a unity government in the coming weeks.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said Thursday that the move made a peace agreement "impossible."
