As
the search for missing flight MH370 continues, several fishermen have
found a damaged raft 10 nautical miles off Port Dickson town yesterday
afternoon (Mar 11), bearing the word 'Boarding' on it.
According to a report on nst.com.my, one of the fishermen, Azman Mohamad, said they immediately notified the the Kuala Linggi Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Malacca for assistance to lift the raft as it was very heavy.
"We managed to tie it to our boat as we feared it would sink due to the damages," said the 40-year-old.
The fishermen then handed over the raft into MMEA's custody when the agency's boat arrived.
However, a Kuala Linggi MMEA spokesman said the raft sunk into the sea while they were trying to bring the raft onboard.
The Malaysian Airlines flight heading to Beijing was reported lost in airspace controlled by Vietnam on Mar 8. It was carrying a total number of 227 passengers and 12 crew members.
