Rice and other relief aid donated by Eleven Media Group and other donors continued to pour into flood-affected areas in Magway Region, Rakhine State, Pyay and
yesterday.
After a truck carrying relief aid arrived in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region, two groups were sent to donate 700 bags of rice, 60 boxes of canned tuna, drinking water and medicine to 11 villages inside the township.
The relief aid was donated to Nyaungpin village, Inndaung village, Monemyit village, Thinbawinn village, Kalarkone village, Nyaungchone village, Ywarthakone village, Nyaunghla village, Nyaungpin village, Hngatpyawtaw village and the kitchen department that prepares food for flood-affected people who have taken shelter in the stairways of Kyaungtawyar Pagoda and for elderly people taking shelter in Kyaungtawyar village.
Additional relief aid was donated in other areas of Pwintbyu Township and Minbu, Sagu, Yenangyaung, and Ngape townships in Magway Region.
Another 400 bags of rice, canned tuna, instant noodles and other aid have also been donated to Magway Region in the past few days. EMG plans to send 2,000 rice bags and 200 oil cartons to other flood-affected areas in Magway Region within the coming days.
A total of 500 bags of rice were donated in Pyay district yesterday. One hundred-fifty bags of rice have been donated to flood victims in Pyay through the Pyay Moe Myitta Free Funeral Service Society, and 350 bags of rice were donated to flood victims near Shwetaung through the Shwetaung Philanthropic Free Funeral Service Society.
Similar donations have also been made in Rakhine State. Four hundred bags of rice were donated to Myinpya and Mrauk U, while another batch of 200 bags of rice were sent to Maungdaw by boat.
Moreover, 4,500 bags of rice, 1,000 oil cartons and 60,000 water purification tablets will also be sent from Yangon to Rakhine State.
EMG and other donors have donated Ks 150 million to flood victims in Rakhine State, including food and other goods worth Ks 25 million, rice worth Ks 100 million, water purification tablets worth Ks 30 million, and other items.
Furthermore, 1,500 bags of rice and canned food worth Ks 7 million were sent from Mandalay to flood victims in day.
